Meet ANPC Ambassador Louiza Menzel. This lady is no stranger to exercise and good nutrition. We know this as ANPC have personally watched her train for well over a decade. These sessions are not for the faint hearted, many a younger hopeful has withered in their attempts to replicate what she does. In the time we have known her we have seen her deadlift 2.5x her bodyweight, perfectly execute a set of 10+ chin ups and 2 dozen nose to floor rollouts. And she barely whispers a protest during training.

What are you training for?
At the moment I’m not training for anything in particular other than the love of exercise – I get miserable if I don’t move
What does a training week look like for you?
2 x Weight Training Sessions
2 x Steady State runs between 8 – 10km
1 – 2 Interval Runs
2 – 3 Yin Yoga Classes
At least 1 Vinyasa Yoga Class
Walk my dog at least 3 times a week
What’s been your hardest training session to date?
My hardest training session by far has to be my birthday weight training session I did with my trainer this year
What do you do to recover?
I pay attention to my nutrition, like including a good quality whey protein after weight training
I find a Yin Yoga class so beneficial for my mental health and wellbeing and a great way to get a good stretch and help me relax after a busy day
I try to roll and stretch at home a couple of times a week
I try to get 8 hours of sleep a night
Tell us something about you that most people don't know?
Whilst I love the ocean and water, I’m a lousy swimmer and terrified of waves probably due to a near drowning experience in my early 20’s – I do however enjoy water sports and can water ski, paddle, row etc. in calm, flat water
